I never planned on starting a blog.
Like most women, I was just trying to keep up with life. Looking after my family, trying to make our house feel like a home, chasing big dreams while wondering what to cook for dinner. Some days I felt like I was doing okay. Other days I ended the day wondering if I’d done enough.
Somewhere along the way, I realised I wasn’t the only woman feeling that tension.
We’re surrounded by perfectly styled homes, perfectly dressed children, perfectly curated lives, and it can leave you wondering whether everyone else has figured something out that you haven’t.
I don’t think they have.
Life is beautiful, but it’s also ordinary. It looks like folded washing that sits in the basket for two days. It looks like burnt toast, school runs, conversations around the dinner table, and prayers whispered because that’s all you have the energy for.
And I think that’s exactly where God meets us.
That’s what Amen & Home is about.
This is a place for women who want to create a home that feels warm and welcoming, not because it’s perfect, but because love lives there. It’s a place where we’ll share recipes that don’t require a trip to five different supermarkets, simple ideas for making everyday life a little easier, honest conversations about motherhood and marriage, and reflections on faith that don’t pretend life is always neat.
I love beautiful things. I love fresh flowers on the table, a well-made bed, and food that brings people together. But I’ve learned that the things we remember most are rarely the perfect moments. They’re the ordinary ones—the family dinners, the messy kitchens, the laughter, the tears, and the quiet ways God keeps showing up.
